Parents of Athletes
Masterclass: The Power of the Drive Home
Owning the edge
Empowering parents of aspiring athletes: The Power of the Drive Home is an online Masterclass designed to guide parents in their quest to maximise capacity and resilience in their children. I am going to show you how to embrace the Power of the Drive Home.
There’s no manual for how to be a great parent.
Let alone a parent of an aspiring athlete.
You may catch yourself wondering things like:
Am I pushing too much, or too little?
How does my child compare to others?
Is this pressure too much for them?
Are they still enjoying their sport?
Is there a way I can help build their resilience?
Despite parents being an integral member of an athlete’s support team, there have been no resources designed to help parents support their child in reaching optimal performance — until now.
Masterclass One
3 Critical Skills to Maximise Performance in your Aspiring Athlete
In this 1-Hour LIVE Masterclass you will learn the power of:
-
How to support your child with the navigation of their sport plan. If young athletes are to learn how to execute and navigate their way towards success, we need to support them in determining the route they want to take.
-
How to foster motivation and sustain excitement and fun. Extrinsic motivation is a reward-driven behaviour. When we teach our children to be intrinsically motivated, they become an active participant in their sporting endeavour and experience greater joy in the journey, regardless of the outcome. I am going to help you do this!
-
How to help your child learn the power of self reflection. Children are innately ego focussed; wanting the ribbon, the reward, the outcome. Athletes that are task focused develop goals related to improving their skills and are driven by the ability to track their progress. We can help children become task focused by supporting their self reflection.
